Coach John Coughlin has added four new players to his squad with Sunday’s Ramsdens Cup-tie with Dumbarton fast approaching.
Full-backs Iain Chisholm and Joe Dingwall have put pen to paper for the forthcoming season, while midfielders Andy Stirling and Ally Love have signed on short-term one month deals.
25 year-old Chisholm is a durable utility player who has a good deal of experience with Albion Rovers and, latterly, Dumbarton where he spent the last two seasons.
Edinburgh student, Joe Dingwall played last season with Shire’s old Scottish Cup foes Edinburgh City in the East of Scotland League.
The coach has also brought in former Stenhousemuir midfielder Andy Stirling, a player he knows well from his time in charge at Ochilview, and Ally Love who was a highly-rated youngster at SPL side St. Mirren before he was released in the summer.
“These are four good signings,” said John. “Iain Chisholm has a lot of experience at this level and was playing for Dumbarton in the Second Division last season. Joe gives us options down the flank, while Andy Stirling gives us real ability in midfield.
“Ally Love is a really good kid who was a hot prospect at St. Mirren,” said John. “He now just wants to put himself back in the shop window after being released and we are happy to help him do that and we hope he can help us as well.”
