Squad Gets Finishing Touches

Three more players have been added to the Shire squad in time for the opening game of the season at Dumbarton on Sunday.

Coach John Coughlin has signed former East Fife and Arbroath striker Jordyn Sheerin one a one year contract and has taken Hibs goalkeeper Calum Antell and Stenhousemuir midfielder Michael Hunter on loan.

21 year-old Sheerin made 14 appearances for Third Division champions Arbroath last season, one of which was as a substitute in the Red Lichties’ 5-2 win over Shire at Ochilview in March.

Hunter arrives in a season long loan deal from the Warriors. John Coughlin gave him his Stenhousemuir debut when he was Ochilview boss and the coach certainly understands what the player can bring to the Shire squad.

Keeper Calum Antell is a Welsh youth international and joined Hibernian from Swindon Town last season. The Easter Road club has initially loaned him to Shire for one month but there is a possibility this could be extended. The 18 year-old played in the first half of Tuesday’s friendly match at Newtongrange Star.

All three players will be added to the squad for the Ramsdens Cup match at Dumbarton on Sunday.
