Shire will face Falkirk in the semi-final of this season’s Stirlingshire Cup later this month.
The game will go ahead on Tuesday 27th September at the Falkirk Stadium and will have a 7:30pm kick-off.
It follows Falkirk’s 1-0 win over Alloa last week, and the teams will be battling it out for the right to meet Dumbarton in the final.
Matches between the two great rivals are now largely restricted to encounters in the county cup, but Shire fans always relish the opportunity of a tilt at their old adversaries.
“It is a game I am looking forward to,” said coach John Coughlin. “I am sure the club’s fans feel the same way and although some people may not attach too much importance to the Stirlingshire Cup we go into every game we play wanting to win it.”
The two clubs last met in April when they played out a 2-2 draw in a testimonial match for long-serving Shire midfielder Derek Ure.
