Shire have signed Hibernian midfielder Lewis Horner on a month long emergency loan.
The 19 year-old Newcastle-born player will go straight into John Coughlin’s squad for Wednesday night’s re-arranged league match against Berwick Rangers at Ochilview.
The Easter Road club has high hopes for the player, who has already made one SPL appearance at the end of last season.
“He was a player who a few folk with Hibs connections had mentioned to me,” said John. “I understand he was on the verge of their first team at the start of the season but he is now in need of competitive matches and hopefully that is a situation we can benefit from.”
Shire already have goalkeeper Calum Antell on loan from Hibernian.
